Announcing World Record attempts and wins is a PR dream, when every journalist and publication is keen to write about your story. But what happens in the background is another story.
We got the chance to help people know about Jonathan Shubert’s new world record for cycling 1300 kms in 2 days in Oman. It took him about 47 hours and 21 minutes to carry out a feat which usually would have taken other mere mortals at least 6 days.
Starting out on from Muscat at 6:10am on February 11, Jonathan cycled through two nights on lonely dark roads with cool temperatures of 13 degrees and highs of 30 degrees during the day.
Jonathan isn’t a stranger to attempting inhuman feats with his bicycle, but this particular world record was in hope to raise funds for Lifting Hands International who provide humanitarian aid to refugees around the world.
